Prices are in US dollars per 30 days. The figure shown in the app when you approve a plan in Shopify is the figure you are charged; it can differ from the catalogue price here, so treat these as starting prices.

Why pricing follows catalogue size

Every product on a ladder is a clock the scheduler keeps and a row the app reads each night, so catalogue size is what drives the cost of running it. It is also something Shopify reports exactly, so you can check which plan fits your store against your own admin.

Pricing is not a share of markdown revenue. That would need the app to attribute each sale to a markdown step, which it does not do; a percentage plan would be a promise the app cannot compute.

If your catalogue grows past your plan's band, nothing stops working and your charge does not change on its own. The app tells you, and you move when you are ready, approved in Shopify.

Included in every plan

  • Time-based markdown ladders, with each step set by days since listing
  • Every product on its own clock, so a step fires on the day that product earns it
  • Steps that only ever deepen: a later step cannot discount less than an earlier one
  • A preview of exactly what a ladder will do, before you start it
  • The week ahead: what will be marked down, and on which day, before it happens
  • Below-cost check for every product with a cost per item, and a clear count of those without one
  • A weekly digest by email, and an optional note the day before prices change
  • Storefront app embeds, so the markdown shows where the shopper sees it
  • Every version of a ladder kept, with who changed it and why
  • Full activity trail of every step applied, skipped and refused
  • CSV export of every product a ladder applies to: its step, discount and new price
  • Role-based access, with drafting a ladder and starting one as separate permissions
  • Sync health, with a scheduled nightly catalogue read

Enterprise

Enterprise is for catalogues of 10,001 products or more, and it is not offered yet. Markdown Optimizer currently supports catalogues of up to 10,000 variants. Each variant counts as one, because a ladder is previewed variant by variant before it starts. Email support@sparande.co.uk if your catalogue is larger and we will tell you when that changes.

  • Access from your identity provider: Connect Microsoft Entra ID and your directory decides who on your team can use the app. Shopify stays the login.
  • Roles from your directory: Entra ID groups map to app roles. Someone in several mapped groups gets the highest of their roles.
  • Automatic provisioning: Add people when your directory provisions them, and revoke their app access on their next request after a deactivation is received.
  • Custom approval chains: Choose which roles must sign off, stage by stage, before a ladder starts or a step applies.
  • Priority support: An agreed response time, and onboarding shaped around your catalogue with us.

Free trial and billing

  • Every published plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Nothing is charged until it ends.
  • Billing is through Shopify, on your Shopify invoice, and a plan starts only once you approve it in Shopify.
  • There is no commission, usage charge or per-sale fee.
  • You can cancel at any time from Billing and plan in the app, or by uninstalling.
  • Before uninstalling, use Remove active markdown changes if you want original prices put back.

Pricing questions

Which Markdown Optimizer plan do I need?

The one whose band contains your product count. The app reads your catalogue size from Shopify and shows which plan fits, along with the count it measured.

Is there a free trial of Markdown Optimizer?

Yes. Every published plan starts with a 7-day free trial, held by Shopify, and nothing is charged until it ends.

Do higher plans unlock more features?

No. Growth, Accelerate and Velocity include every feature; they differ only by catalogue size. Enterprise adds identity-provider access, directory provisioning, custom approval chains and priority support.

Is there an annual plan?

Yes. Growth, Accelerate and Velocity can each be paid monthly or once a year, and a year costs up to 25% less than twelve months. Both are billed through Shopify.
