Velocity Pulse: frequently asked questions
Short, factual answers about Velocity Pulse for Shopify.
What is Velocity Pulse?
Velocity Pulse detects products losing sales momentum early, explains what changed and helps merchants act before slow-moving inventory becomes dead stock. It is an app for Shopify stores, made by Sparande, and it runs inside Shopify admin.
Who is Velocity Pulse for?
Shopify merchants whose catalogue is too large to watch every product by eye, and who want to act on a slowing product while its stock still sells, rather than clear it once it has stopped.
How does Velocity Pulse tell that a product is slowing?
It compares each product's recent daily sales with that product's own baseline, using a statistical test, and turns the result into a Pulse Score from 0 to 100 with a risk band. Products are scored after every catalogue sync and again every night. The quantitative analysis determines the signal; nothing is flagged on a hunch.
Does it explain why sales dropped?
Yes. Each slowdown comes with a plain-English explanation of what changed against the product's baseline, and the possible causes worth checking, such as price positioning, seasonality, weak merchandising or stock availability. AI helps write the explanation and suggest causes; they are presented as possibilities to check, not as proven facts.
What can Velocity Pulse change in my store?
Only what you approve: a markdown (a visible price cut), a flash sale (a short discount claimed with a code) or clearance. Every action can be rolled back when you cancel it, restoring the previous prices. Autonomous mode is available if you opt in, within your rules; AI-found possibilities never launch on their own.
Does AI decide what to discount?
No. AI finds the possibilities. Our maths verifies what is safe to launch. AI suggests possibilities. Our quantitative models test each one for demand, price response, expected value and confidence against your margin floor and discount limits, and only validated recommendations can be approved. Ideas that fail are never launched, and you are told why.
What about bundles?
Velocity Pulse does not build bundles itself. When a bundle could help a slowing product, it refers the opportunity to Bundle Optimizer, the Sparande app that evaluates and launches bundles, and shows you the referral's status.
Does Velocity Pulse forecast my sales?
It does not offer a sales-forecasting report. Forecasts are used only inside the validation of each recommendation, to estimate whether acting would earn more than doing nothing.
How much does Velocity Pulse cost?
Plans follow your catalogue size, and every plan includes every feature. Growth (up to 200 products) is $9.99 a month or $99 a year; Accelerate (200 – 999 products) is $14.99 a month or $149 a year; Velocity (1,000 – 4,999 products) is $24.99 a month or $249 a year. Enterprise is quoted for 5,000+ products. Prices are in US dollars and billed through Shopify.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every self-serve plan starts with a 14-day free trial, held by Shopify: you see it on Shopify's approval screen and your invoice honours it.
What Shopify data does it use?
Your products, inventory, locations and orders, read through Shopify's API. It writes only prices, discounts and product publication for the actions you approve. It is designed not to store customer names, emails, addresses or payment details.
Does it work with my theme?
Velocity Pulse runs in Shopify admin and works with any Shopify store. The optional storefront badges and countdowns are theme app blocks, which need an Online Store 2.0 theme.
How do I get support?
Email support@sparande.co.uk. Every plan includes onboarding help; Enterprise adds priority support with an agreed response time.
