How Velocity Pulse works

AI helps explain the findings; quantitative analysis determines the signal. AI finds the possibilities. Our maths verifies what is safe to launch. Here is what happens from install to a measured result.

AI suggests. Deterministic maths decides.

AI only suggests ways to recover a slowing product and helps explain what changed. Whether a product is slowing, and whether an idea is safe to launch, is decided by deterministic, quantitative mathematics, tested against your margin floor and discount limits.

AI only suggests. Deterministic, quantitative mathematics decides. Each numbered step is explained below.
  1. Install and sync

Install Velocity Pulse from the Shopify App Store. It reads your products, inventory and orders through Shopify, and the first catalogue sync starts on its own. A product needs enough sales history before it can be scored, so a store with few orders sees few scores at first.

  2. Score every product against its own history

Each product's recent daily sales are tested against its own baseline, not a store-wide threshold. The result is a Pulse Score from 0 to 100 with a risk band. Products are scored after every catalogue sync and again every night. Slowing products are ranked worst risk first, with the capital tied up in their stock.

  3. Explain what changed

Each slowdown comes with a plain-English explanation of what changed and the possible causes worth checking. The explanation describes the change the analysis found. Possible causes, such as price positioning, seasonality, weak merchandising or stock availability, are suggestions to check, never presented as proven.

  4. Look for ways to recover the product

AI suggests possibilities: a markdown, a flash sale, clearance, or a bundle. A possibility is labelled as such and cannot be launched. A bundle idea is referred to Bundle Optimizer, which evaluates it.

  5. Test each idea quantitatively

Our quantitative models test each idea for demand, price response, expected value and confidence against your margin floor and discount limits. A validated recommendation carries an expected value, a confidence level and a discount depth that respects your margin floor. Ideas that fail are never launched, and you are told why in plain words.

  6. You approve

You approve each action. Autonomous mode is opt-in, and AI-found possibilities never launch on their own. Nothing is recommended below your margin floor; if a unit cost is missing, the idea is held and you are told why.

  7. Launch, verify, measure

An approved action is launched through Shopify and shown as live only once the launch is confirmed in your store. Each launch is measured against how the product was selling before it. Cancelling an action rolls it back and restores the previous prices.

The labels you will see

AI-discovered possibility
An idea worth testing. Not validated, and it cannot be launched.
Tested and not launched
It did not pass validation. You are told why.
Quantitatively validated
It passed, with an expected value, a confidence and a discount depth. Only these can be approved.
Approved by you
You approved it; the launch is being prepared.
Verified live
Your store confirmed the launch.
Outcome measured
Compared with how the product was selling before.
