InventoryIntel: frequently asked questions
Answers about slow-moving inventory, recovery actions, approvals, pricing and your data.
Frequently asked questions
What is InventoryIntel?
InventoryIntel finds the stock that is tying up cash in your Shopify store. AI suggests recovery actions (markdowns, clearance, bundles and wholesale routing), deterministic, quantitative mathematics checks each one against your margin and approval rules, and the approved plan runs through Shopify, reporting the revenue it recovers. It is a Shopify app made by Sparande and runs inside your Shopify admin.
Who is InventoryIntel for?
Shopify merchants with slow-moving, aged, overstocked or dead stock that is holding cash the business needs, and the owners, finance, merchandising and operations people who decide what to discount, bundle or clear.
What counts as dead stock or slow-moving inventory?
InventoryIntel looks at how fast each product sells, whether its sales are slowing, how long since it last sold and how many days of stock are left, and gives it a risk level: healthy, warning, critical or dead. The inventory aging report lists every product by that risk.
Which recovery actions can it run?
Markdowns that deepen as stock ages, flash sales and clearance campaigns with storefront badges and a shareable clearance page, bundles that pair a slow product with a suitable partner, and routing to wholesale or bulk liquidation with buyer-ready exports.
How does it decide which action to recommend?
AI suggests the recovery options open to each product. Deterministic, quantitative mathematics then compares them using evidence from your own store (sales history, stock movement, prices and costs) and recommends the one it expects to recover the most. AI never sets a price or a discount. Each recommendation is explainable: it says why it was chosen and how confident it is.
Will it discount products I want to protect?
No. Protection rules keep products out of every recovery action by collection, tag, product type, vendor, price or individual product. Discount limits, margin and price floors are checked before an action can launch.
Does anything launch without my approval?
Only what you allow. An approval policy decides which actions need sign-off and who can give it. Rules you mark as automatic can launch after a sync; everything else waits in the approval queue. You can pause or cancel a campaign at any time.
How much does InventoryIntel cost?
Growth is free to install with no monthly fee; it charges a performance fee on billable recovered revenue only, and the rate is shown in the app and on Shopify's approval screen before you approve. Alliance is one fixed monthly fee with no recovery commission, quoted for your store, and new merchants can start with a 14-day evaluation at no charge. Both are billed through Shopify.
How do I get an Alliance quote?
Install InventoryIntel, open Pricing in the app and request a quotation. The fee is worked out from your synced catalogue, and you approve it in Shopify Billing. If you would rather talk first, email our sales team; any price we agree is still approved and billed through Shopify.
Does it work with platforms other than Shopify?
InventoryIntel is built for Shopify stores. It runs inside your Shopify admin, and recovery campaigns run in your Shopify store.
Does InventoryIntel store my customers' personal data?
Its recovery workflows are built on product, inventory, order-line and campaign data. They are designed not to store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers or street addresses, and InventoryIntel responds to Shopify's privacy webhooks.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Shopify session data is removed and app access is revoked when you uninstall. When Shopify sends its shop data deletion request, the shop's app data is deleted unless the law requires us to keep it. If you reinstall within a billing period you have already paid for, you can restore your settings or start fresh.
