Privacy and security in InventoryIntel

InventoryIntel works from your store's product, inventory and order data, and is designed to keep customers' personal data out of its recovery workflows. This page summarises how.

AI suggests. Deterministic maths decides.

AI only suggests ways to recover stock that has stopped selling. Whether a recovery action is safe to launch is always decided by deterministic, quantitative mathematics, tested against your margin, price-floor and discount rules.

  • AI only suggests recovery actions. AI never sets a price or a discount
  • Deterministic, quantitative mathematics decides every recovery action
  • Nothing launches outside your rules and your approval policy

What InventoryIntel reads from Shopify

  • Store details such as the shop domain, plan and billing status, time zone and currency.
  • Products, variants, prices, unit costs, stock levels, tags, vendors and locations, used to find slow-moving stock and choose recovery actions.
  • Recent order lines and campaign results, used to measure sales speed and attribute recovered revenue. This can include order IDs, quantities, prices, timestamps, sales channel and shipping country code.
  • The rules, approvals and settings you enter in the app.

The recovery workflows are designed not to store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses or payment details. We never sell or share store data for advertising, and the app has no third-party advertising trackers.

How AI is used

AI suggests recovery actions and writes the explanations and campaign copy. It cannot set a price or a discount, and it cannot approve or launch anything: every suggestion must pass the quantitative checks and then your approval policy.

To do that, InventoryIntel sends selected business data (product and variant titles, SKUs, prices, stock levels, sales-speed figures and your notes) to an AI service. Customer names, payment details and customer contact records are not part of that data.

Sign-in and access

  • InventoryIntel opens inside your Shopify admin and uses Shopify to verify your store and staff.
  • Role-based access decides who can view, approve, launch or manage billing.
  • Access tokens are stored encrypted and treated as sensitive credentials.
  • Application logs redact tokens, keys and email addresses.
  • Production secrets are held in a managed key vault, not in source code.

Shopify privacy webhooks

InventoryIntel responds to Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks: customer data requests are reviewed and answered, customer redaction requests delete the matching order-line records, and shop redaction deletes the shop's app data unless the law requires us to keep it.

When you uninstall

Shopify session data is removed and app access tokens are revoked promptly. Only the minimum non-personal operational data needed to restore a billing period you have already paid for is kept, until that period ends. If you reinstall in that window you can restore your settings, or choose Start Fresh to delete them for good.
