Privacy and security
Margin Optimizer reads the store data it needs to check prices and margins, and nothing it does not need. It never sells or shares store data for marketing or advertising.
AI suggests. Deterministic maths decides.
AI can only put forward a candidate price and write the plain-English explanation. Whether a price is safe is always decided by deterministic, quantitative mathematics, tested against your cost, your target margin and your price-change limits, so the same inputs always give the same answer.

What it reads
- Products and variants: titles, SKUs, prices, compare-at prices and cost per item.
- Inventory levels by location.
- Recent order lines: order and product IDs, quantities, prices, timestamps, sales channel and a two-letter shipping country code.
- The settings you enter: target margin, limits, exclusions and approvals.
What it does not read
It does not read customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses or payment details from orders.
AI processing
Candidate prices and explanations are generated with Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, under Microsoft's enterprise terms. Inputs are product and pricing data, not customer contact or payment data, and are not used to train the underlying models.
Shopify privacy requests
- Customer data requests are reviewed and answered through Sparande's privacy workflow.
- Customer redaction requests delete the matching order-line records.
- Shop deletion requests delete the shop's records and related app data, unless a legal retention obligation applies.
Security
- All traffic is served over HTTPS.
- Sign-in uses Shopify session tokens; the app does not rely on third-party cookies.
- Stored Shopify credentials are encrypted and removed when you uninstall.
- Every price launch is recorded with the old and new price.
